Choosing a name for your baby can be extremely easy for some and terribly daunting for others. Naming a child has so many factors to consider, and popularity is a big one. Some parents want to use family names while others lean towards names specific meanings.
Names.org has released its predictions for the top U.S. baby names in 2020. According to them, every name to crack the top 10 names in a given year since 1937 was in the top 25 the year before. Since the Social Security name data for 2019 hasn’t been released yet, this list is based on last years’ trends.
Name.org states: “In past years our prediction have proven to be very close to the actual rankings. For 2018, 9 of our top 10 boy name predictions and 10 out of 10 girl name predictions were in the actual top 10 once official numbers were released.”

Oliver and Lucas bumped their way up the chart this year while James, ranked 4 last year, is now sitting at number 8.

Some names just outside the top 10 but raising in popularity are Sebastian, Mason, Ethan, Logan, Michael, and Daniel.
Girl Name Predictions
Charlotte, Amelia, both moved up a couple spots from last year, but the name Mila jumped up 5 spots from #14 in 2018 to #9 this year.
